About Beekman Place Livery

In 1839, this building housed a fire station. Soon after, it would become the carriage house for the Beekman family, who were merchants on Silver Street in the famed Under-The-Hill section of Natchez. Today, the house is owned by John Grady Burns, a native of Natchez who returns often to see family and friends, to perform his decorating magic for weddings and other special occasions, or just for the welcomed change from the hectic pace of Atlanta.

Beekman Place Livery is located at 303 N. Commerce Street, at the corner of Commerce and Jefferson. Less than 2 blocks away is the actual center of downtown Natchez, so the shopping areas, restaurants, and business of Natchez are a very quick stroll away. Even the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River is just a walk of about 3 blocks. The rooftop offers a great place to relax, and affords a beautiful view of the city to the southwest, and Stanton Hall, just a block to the north. Though the roof is well secured by railing, we do insist that guests use caution and common sense when accessing the area.
